A flow table test machine is a device used to determine the flow characteristics of cementitious materials, such as concrete or mortar. It is commonly employed in construction and civil engineering laboratories to assess the workability and consistency of fresh concrete mixtures.
The flow table test machine consists of a sturdy table mounted on a stable base. The table is made of steel or other durable materials and is designed to support the concrete sample during the test. A circular or square flow mold is placed on top of the table. The flow mold is open at the bottom and has a smooth inner surface to allow for the smooth flow of the concrete mixture.
The flow table is equipped with a lifting mechanism, typically a lever or hydraulic system, that allows controlled lifting and free-fall of the flow mold. This mechanism ensures consistent and repeatable testing conditions. A graduated scale is attached to the lifting mechanism or the base of the flow table. This scale is used to measure the distance traveled by the concrete mixture after it is released from the flow mold.
