The LAARMANN® LAB WIZZ is designed for “1001 laboratory applications”. Typical processing times are just 30 seconds. The LAB WIZZ can prepare two or more samples ranging from 0.2 ml up to 160 ml, making it ideal for high-sample throughput environments.
High operator convenience and maximum safety:
Maximum grinding performance and operator safety are core priorities in Laarmann mills. With an integrated motor brake, the machine operates only when the “Easy Cover” is securely closed. The innovative “Easy Clamp system” ensures safe and simple clamping of all grinding jars up to 160 ml.
The grinding chamber, clamp system, and swinging arm are made from high-precision stainless steel, meeting strict food and pharmaceutical standards.
Thanks to its modern motor concept and drive system, the Laarmann LAB WIZZ is completely maintenance-free.
Advantages of the LAB WIZZ:
With a wide selection of grinding jars made of various materials, the LAB WIZZ meets virtually all laboratory processing needs, offering unmatched versatility and performance.
Thanks to the combination of high-energy vibration and the impactful motion of grinding balls, the LAB WIZZ can grind not only hard and brittle materials but also medium-soft, soft, and elastic materials with ease.
All LAB WIZZ static mixers contain a helical mixing element that directs the flow of material radially toward the pipe walls and back to the center. The use of alternating right- and left-hand elements creates velocity reversals and flow division, resulting in highly efficient mixing. This ensures consistent temperature, velocity, and composition without radial gradients.
Designed for high analytical screening, the LAB WIZZ efficiently disrupts samples such as spores, microorganisms, plant and animal tissues, or soil. Using metallic or ceramic balls and extraction media, over 95% of cells are disrupted within 2 minutes. Since the balls and vials are disposable, this method is ideal for PCR, PAGE, and probe applications where cross-contamination must be avoided.
Stainless steel micro vials are used for cryogenic or standard grinding of small samples like soil or grain. Combined with steel or tungsten carbide beads, these vials ensure high heat transfer for efficient heating or cooling. Pre-filling with grinding balls is also available for convenience.
For heat-sensitive materials like plastics or rubber, cryogenic grinding can be performed by embrittling the material with liquid nitrogen and externally freezing the clamping jars. These jars are made of Teflon or stainless steel and are perfectly suited for cold grinding.
